That a mass is celebrated in a church is perfectly normal. But that a church invites visitors to a fair for book lovers is something quite special. On April 26 and 27, St. Petri in Lübeck once again opens its doors for the “Buchmacher,” the fair of independent publishers. A total of 35 publishers from all over Germany will be traveling to present their latest novels, nonfiction titles, and children’s books in the church space: carefully curated works, selected and designed with love. With free admission, visitors are invited over two days to read and listen, browse and buy. As part of the reading program, a selection of new releases will be presented by the authors themselves in the choir area of the church. For the ninth time already, the “Buchmacher” are coming together in Lübeck and look forward to an interested audience.
