With the Advent lighting on Monday, November 23, 2026, the Christmas market season begins in Lübeck, along with the KHWM, the artisan market at St. Petri. At 4:30 PM, Pastor Lilly Schaack and Pastor Robert Pfeifer will lead a short devotion in the Marienkirchhof to set the mood for the evening. Afterwards, young and old will walk with lanterns over the Holstentor to St. Petri. There, a highlight awaits the children: St. Nicholas will rappel down from the church tower with gifts in tow.
At 6 PM, the KHWM will open its doors. The Lübeck Boys' Choir will sing, Provost Oliver Erckens will give a welcoming speech, and admission is free that evening.
