Petrivision – MAINTAIN CONTACT

An Evening on the Art of Staying Connected.

When the social glue crumbles and loneliness becomes a fundamental feeling for many people, the question arises of what creates closeness and maintains connection.
This is what the Petrivision explores on the third evening of the KONTAKT series. The focus is on perspectives of contact as a social, cultural, and existential practice. Filmmaker Jackie Gillies shares her work on her short film "No Time," which addresses loneliness in old age and the nursing shortage. Kristine Goddemeyer from KulturTafel Lübeck focuses on cultural participation as a prerequisite for social contact. Pastor Lilly Schaack speaks about "Third Spaces" – open places beyond utilitarian logic, where encounters become possible.
Musically, the evening will be shaped by a vocal quartet of students from the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre under the direction of Chiara Perneker. They will interpret works by Ola Gjeilo, Einojuhani Rautavaara, and Olivier Messiaen. A trombone duo from the Lübeck University of Music will perform baroque and contemporary duets.
The fragile balance of closeness and distance will be acrobatically explored by the tightrope walkers of Circus Paravicini. Installations by Fabian Schwarze and Reinhard Eggers invite the audience to become part of the event, while texts by Kim de l’Horizon, Sirka Elspaß, Rainer Maria Rilke, and others open up different approaches to loneliness, longing, and connectedness.
Directed by Sigrid Dettlof and Mathis Dieckmann.
Admission is free; donations are welcome.
To set the mood, the St. Petri Café opens at 10 PM.
