The Petrivision, the nighttime performance series at St. Petri covering cultural, scientific, and religious topics, is entering its 25th year. What began in the year 2000 as a completely new event format with a series on “Beginnings” has not lost any of its appeal over time—despite its unusual hour, Saturdays at 11 p.m.—and continues to attract a large audience to this day. What was originally a simple program featuring speeches and music has evolved into a sophisticated production with dramatic readings, installations, and interactive surprises.

In selecting topics, the Petrivision working group has always placed great importance on staying current, particularly with regard to political events. For this anniversary series, the team led by director Sigrid Dettlof, Pastor Dr. Bernd Schwarze, and Pastor Lilly Schaack has chosen the theme “Realities” to provide space for discussions on contemporary societal tensions.

On Saturday, April 5, at 11 p.m., the evening’s theme will be "healthy_sick." Health is considered a valuable asset and has gained significance in societal discourse. But what exactly does it mean to be healthy, and who defines health? Is illness a flaw, a disorder that needs to be fixed? Do trends toward fitness and self-optimization imply that a life with illness is less valuable? Questions like these will be explored through expert statements and artistic contributions.

On the remaining evenings of the series, running until the end of the year, other pairs of contrasting concepts will be examined. In May, the focus will be on the understanding of poverty and wealth, followed by evenings on "male_female," "old_young," "analog_digital," and "spiritual_material," among others.
