What supports? Houses, societies, relationships, convictions? Foundations lie hidden. We usually only become interested in them when cracks become visible and something starts to falter that previously seemed self-evident. But what happens when a foundation no longer supports? Can it be repaired without tearing down what has been built on it? And what can be built anew?
At the start of the CONSTRUCTION SITES series, Petrivision directs its gaze downward: at what we stand on and what is normally hidden from our view.
Pastor Lilly Schaack asks in her speech what it means to examine, question, and, if necessary, realign foundations – both socially and spiritually. Architect and artist Tobias Mißfeldt approaches the foundation from an architectural perspective, but also focuses on immaterial foundations: on ideas, concepts, and decisions that precede what ultimately takes shape. Mayor Jan Lindenau looks at democracy as the foundation of our community from the perspective of local politics.
Musically, the evening moves between jazz and choral sound. Singer Ella Burkhardt and double bassist Florian Galow bring jazz into the church space. The vocal ensemble Viva Voce, led by Eva-Maria Salomon, sings about fundamental themes of human existence: love, peace, and faith.
