Concert for children of primary school age with the Hanse Jazz Quintet.
The jazz pirate Captain Blechbein is unhappy. Shipwrecked and without a crew, he is all alone with his trumpet. By chance he catches sight of what he thinks is a large piece of driftwood. But stop! It's the deep-grim Nick the eye-patch. And how deep he can play! The two soon realise that they are good together, but that something is still missing to form a real team, a "band". By great luck they meet the hundred-fingered Sophia, who can play incredibly fast on her ship's piano. By the Klabautermann! Little by little they realise that they can "groove" wonderfully well as a pirate trio. And how it sounds! But how does that actually happen? Together they find out why a trumpet sounds the way it does, how deep the bass hums and how many notes the piano can play at once. But will the jazz pirates ever manage to find a common sound again?
The concert focuses on the playful teaching of topics such as instrumental knowledge, music history, musical composition, interplay, interpersonal communication in music and what one can learn from jazz about music, mutual tolerance and friendship. Instrumentation: Martin Berner, tp / Leon Sladky, sax / Sophia Oster, p / Niklas Müller, b / Kristoph Krabbenhoeft, dr
