Support for the Seven Towers project
On Friday, June 9, 2023, the benefit city tour "Lübeckers, get to know your churches!" will take place from 3 p.m. Lübeck city guides offer seven different tours,
which begin with a tour of the old town and each have one of the inner-city churches as their destination. There the “landlord” awaits the guests. The charity city tour lasts 90 minutes and the meeting point is at the Holsten Gate.
Thomas Baltrock for St. Aegidien, Martin Klatt for Lübeck Cathedral, Lutz Jederck for St. Jakobi, Dr. Bernd Schwarze for St. Petri, city guide Karin Peters for St. Catherine and provost Christoph Giering for the Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart. For St. Marien, Robert Pfeifer explains the interior of the church, while Kay Gladigau offers a tour of the tower and vault.
City guide Stephanie Ullrich, who had the idea for the charity campaign, is actively supported by her colleagues Silke Stender, Monika Kramp, Bernd-Dieter Thurau and Klaus Süberkrüp. "After last year's wonderful success with almost 140 enthusiastic Lübeck residents, we are looking forward to a second edition of the benefit tour for the benefit of the Seven Towers Project!" "This year, those who are interested again have the opportunity to choose "their" church and go there with the city guide of their choice," Stephanie Ullrich looks ahead. "For us tour guides, the campaign was so much fun and we hope for an even greater response this year!" The aim is for the seven towers tour to become a traditional event for Lübeck. "And we would like to surpass last year's 1813 euros!" The trained foreign language correspondent, who has been working as a city guide for eight years, invites all interested parties to secure tickets for twelve euros in advance at the kiosk in St. Marien Church.
Entry costs 12 euros. The proceeds will be donated to the "I want to see seven towers" project.
What is new this year is that guests can register specifically for the guided tours in the churches. "In this way, anyone can take part in an exclusive guided tour through another of the inner-city churches within seven years," explains Stephanie Ullrich. The proceeds from the afternoon go entirely to the Seven Towers project. Binding registrations are accepted at the e-mail address sonderfuehrung@gmx.de or telephone 0173/23 26 415.
